Node Requirements
Hardware Requirements
Processor: Minimum 8-core processor, with high-performance CPUs recommended for handling Flostream's advanced data processing and encryption tasks.
Storage:
- Minimum: 1TB NVMe SSD for for metadata indexing
- Recommended: 8-24 TB of HDD per node
Bandwidth:
- Minimum: 1 TB of bandwidth aggergate per month, with at least 5 Mbps upstream and 25 Mbps downstream.
- Recommended: High-speed internet connection with 1 Gbps with unlimited bandwidth.
- Uptime: Minimum 99.3% per month, with a recommended uptime of 99.5% to ensure reliability and efficiency in the network.
System Requirements
Operating Systems: Linux preferred for its stability and networking capabilities
RAM: Minimum 8 GB, recommended 16 GB
Network Configuration
Internet Connection: Utilize a router with a firewall for security, preferring LAN connections over WiFi to ensure stable and consistent connectivity.
Ports: The required ports are 9933 and 9900. Without these ports being open, nodes will not be able to establish or maintain communication with the network.
Additional Considerations
Power Supply: Use of an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) in areas prone to power outages to protect node hardware and data integrity.
File System: Avoid exFAT due to its inefficiencies in space utilization; ext4 for Linux. Be wary of filesystems that may introduce discrepancies in used vs. reported space.
RAID Configuration: Opt for RAID setups with redundancy to safeguard data. Be cautious with RAID configurations that might affect performance or lead to data loss.
Security and Monitoring: Implement robust security measures and continuous monitoring to address potential issues promptly, ensuring node and network integrity.
