Flostream Network's Hierarchical Node Structure: L1 and L2 Nodes

L1 Nodes – Core Storage Providers:

L1 nodes are the foundational elements of the Flostream network, offering extensive storage and bandwidth capabilities. Operating an L1 node requires a higher token stake, reflecting the node’s significant role in providing core storage and bandwidth. In return, L1 nodes receive enhanced bandwidth and greater rewards, aligning with their contribution to the network's infrastructure.

L2 Nodes – Enhancing Accessibility:

L2 nodes, positioned closer to end-users, are designed for faster data access and improved response times. These edge nodes require a lower token stake and are key to expanding network accessibility and optimizing the user experience.

Incentive Structure for Node Longevity:

To promote stability within the network, Flostream introduces a reward bonus system for nodes based on the duration of $flo token staking. Nodes that stake and lock up their tokens for longer periods, particularly in increments of 30 days, receive incremental reward bonuses. This strategy aims to minimize network churn, especially among storage nodes, enhancing overall network reliability.

Node Operator Flexibility:

Operators have the choice of running either L1 or L2 nodes, based on their resource availability and desired involvement level. This flexibility supports a diverse ecosystem, accommodating both large-scale storage providers and those focusing on network accessibility.
